Well today I have went out to take my cdl permit test. Failed on general knowledge and air brakes. Passed on the combination test.
For weeks and days I have been reading my handbook. But was kinda trying a different way of studying for the test. Like apps, fourms practice test and lol Roehl's practice test video's. Big mistake I did. I should of just read the handbook word by word page by page. Because most of the questions that you do on these apps and other stuff really won't be on on the test. Some will but some won't. All I can say is read that handbook study it like you did when you got your motorcycle or class c license. So, have to wait another two weeks for another date to re take it.

It’s been awhile since I took my test so maybe things have changed

But one thing I did notice is the questions may be in different form
For instance one question was how much distance does it take a truck and loaded trailer to stop at X MPH?

The correct answer was 1000 feet but the choices were 1-2-or 3 football fields

At first. You would think you could surely stop in 1 fields distance but the correct answer in this case would be 3

There’s a CDL prep app that might help you.

I appreciate that, but I think studying the book it self will help me.

Study the book. Use apps or practice test as extra prep.

You just ask me anytime you ain’t sure of something! I passed mine with 79% on the fourth try.

I know, you’re supposed to get 80%, but I made the examiner a offer he couldn’t refuse: give me an extra point or he could step outside with Big Maude where he’d be counting the gravel in the asphalt about two seconds after he crossed the threshold!

Number one thing to remember when taking the test. It was made by bureaucrats.
The logical answer is not always the correct answer. Trying to guess the correct answer by logic and you will fail the test.

    GYPSY65 and Travis05Lock Thank this.

I never even looked at the book, just decided one day I wanted my license and just walked in and did it.
