just south of misquite nv at a truck parking area.
had told my dl that I would do a delivery if I got one on Thursday morning.
one I got delivers in San Diego ca.
asked what other driver is gettimg and he got a Lancaster ca delivery at 0630.
    asked if we could switch.
dl says he will tcall both at terminal and I can get it in the mornimg.
said it be easier for me if I can just switch partners and do the switch in beaver ut.
he said it was ok with him.
so I called the other drivers dl in Denver to see if he is ok with it and he was.
so called both Denver drivers and told them what was going on.
lucky for me that I got it switched on Denver cause my normal driver got stopped in traffic due to 70 being closed for a bit
guy I am switching got thru b4 the accident
he got to beaver ut 20 minutes after me. so I drove down here for the nite

flying j in misquite been full the last 3 times I try to park there

    Moosetek13 and dwells40 Thank this.

    Shelby, IA at the Love's.

I picked up a load at Nestle Purina in Crete, NE this morning, and it was a bit heavy.
I scaled out at 11760 steers, 34280 drives and 34000 on the tandems. 80040 gross (although it came in at 79960 on the first weigh).
No luck sliding the fifth wheel a notch, the pins would not release.
I rolled with it and got the red light at the scale house just east of Lincoln. Pulled on the scale and got the green light.
Glad they didn't call me on it.

I deliver tomorrow at 1600 in Joliet, IL. Shut it down here so I could burn off some fuel before the next scale house.

if you have chains on the truck, get rid of them. lose some weight that way

So, dump the chains on the side of the road or at the shipper?
    No.
Chains do not weigh that much to begin with. And what would I tell Swift as to why I dumped the chains?
And who picks up the cost for a new set of chains come winter? Bad either way.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

    Whiteland, IN at the Love's.
My truck is getting tossed about in a thunderstorm right now.
    So much fun!
It is easing up now, and just that quick. It tossed me for about 10 minutes.

When I got to Costco this morning I was informed I was taking a pallet load out, but I had no pplan.
A call to my DM, and she said I had that load, it just hadn't been sent to me.
So I took it, a short 10 miles loaded, with an extra $25.

My next load was picking up a tire load from the Knight terminal in Indianapolis, 17 miles to Cooper Tire in Whiteland with a live unload.
Of course double the miles for both, and rush hour timing.
She got me an extra $100 for that one.
And that one turned out to be a drop, so that was lucky.

Lucky for both me and my DM.
It seems I have been on the random drug test list for the past week or so, but there was never a time to get me anywhere to do it.
Until this afternoon because of that drop. And today was the deadline for it.
It was a breath test for booze this time.
I was told I could park my tractor/trailer there, but no... I ended up pulling to the side of the street with the flashers going for the whole time.
My DM usually goes home at 1630, but it was around 1730 that I finally got done and sent her the pic of the test. She stayed late so she could get this done.
So glad it was a drop at Cooper.

I'm happy this day is over.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

That thunderstorm is still going on, and it is near midnight.
More just lightning now, and a pretty good show. A little rain now and then.

And the power is out here.
No lights here at the Love's or the Pilot across the street. Everything is dark and gloomy.

dptrucker, dwells40 and jackoboyo Thank this.
