I know I'm gonna get a huge amount of flack here, but I need help. I have 7.5 years experience but 2.5 years ago I walked away from driving. Shortly after that I got a DUI. Said DUI, is 2 years and 3 months old from conviction to be exact. It was in a personal vehicle and I've had no accidents or moving violations since then. I spent thousands on this screw up. And I again have an active cdl and I'm looking for work. I know what I did was wrong and I haven't did anything similar since nor do I plan to do it again but I'm a 33 year old with 3 kids I'm trying to feed so of anyone could give me some leads on were to look I'd appreciate it. I had a jam up record before the DUI. 4 years reefer and dry van exp, 1 year with cars and 2.5 years flatbedding. Thanks in advance. Out of lagrange Georgia.

I can’t be much help as far as what companies to try, but I am sure someone will hire you. @Chinatown will know what to do.
Sounds like you learned from your mistake and are making a real effort to do better, I respect that.Team818, born&raisedintheusa, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -

Did you have an active cdl when you got the dui?
Also, if possible to wait another 9 months a lot of opportunities will open up because a lot of companies won't hire if a dui in the last 3 years.born&raisedintheusa, slow.rider, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
Have you completed the SAP program; one that's approved by the FMCSA.
@Moose1958 probably knows which programs are approved.
Western Express and TransAm probably hire you.
Probably make more money with Western Express though.
@Kolorado knows a company that hires SAP graduates.
@bryan21384 can fill you in on Climate Express.
`
Edit: Maybe you don't need the SAP program after all. That's why I asked for @Moose1958 help.Last edited: Jul 2, 2021

@Chinatown there was no violation of part 382 so that is not a concern.
The largest problem is getting a carrier's insurance to allow the OP to drive. Otherwise, the OP is legally clear to operate a CMV. I also agree with @ZVar time is on your side. I suggest pounding the pavement, if you have to get a job hauling rubberized dog (redacted) out of Omaha, well do it!born&raisedintheusa, slow.rider, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
@Willbrian88 I HIGHLY suggest you follow that link I posted in my first comment and scan over Table 1. Look all the way to the right side. A 2nd conviction is a lifetime suspension of your CDL! I'm not trying to bust your balls. I am not on a soapbox either. I'm telling you straight out!!! Don't drink and drive! The FMCSA is DEAD SERIOUS about this. I don't think 383.51 is preached enough on these boards!
born&raisedintheusa Thanks this. -
One of the companies China listed will probably take you. Embrace the suck for a year or 2 and you'll find something better. Complete the sap program if you haven't yet
born&raisedintheusa and slow.rider Thank this.
