Sure seem's odd ... ya'll were carrying on how bad it was and it wasn't right when ya'll had to go to Elogs.. but yet some of you use it as a shield when asked to change up your routine alittle legally..
I have noticed those are always the 1st ones to start throwing rocks at hands like myself that still run paper & or exempt.. but its entertaining to me so carry on
10 hours not the issue

I will go back to paper in a heart beat. I was never tired when running paper AND had a sit down meal for breakfast and dinner, not a quick nuke. wolf it down and go to sleep quickly.

While I am a proponet of running safe and legal, Generally At the 10 hour point I am waiting for the clock to run out so I can get on down the road. The point is to run safe and legal, No one here would argue as to if it is part of the drivers job to be ready to run, that being said I try to preplan my trip with a little extra built in for the "What if's" to be covered and still delivery (or pick up) on time with no damage to the load.
I generally deliver early, in a lot of cases a day or two, if everything goes as planned.
Above all is safe and legal, I ran back in the days of being expected to run hot loads when necessary, I will accomdate speical situation loads, as long as they can be ran safe and legal.Midwest Trucker, Lumper Humper, Trucker61016 and 2 others Thank this. -
As long as the load gets picked up and delivered on time, who cares how long of a break you take!!!

There should be other choices than the 10 hour break, Your natural clock gets out of whack, a 6 or 8 hour break would get you back on your natural time

I’m glad I work for a company with reasonable expectations.

Run everything to the max with as little break time as possible. Shut down for a minimal 34 and do it some more. -

If I commit to a load I will do my best to get it there on time.
But, I will not commit to a load that I do not think I can do in their time - in my time.
I find it SO funny that so many shippers/receivers/companies schedule loads with such a tight time frame.
If they really want it there 'Just In Time', they should allow more room in both pick up and delivery times.
Not that hard to do by the way. Just add a couple hours on each end of things.Lumper Humper, gentleroger, peterd and 3 others Thank this. -
I do miss the old days. Before cell phones and obc-eld.
Just tell me when it has to be there and I'll call when I'm empty, or when I find a pay phone...lolCrusader66, Last Call, Midwest Trucker and 9 others Thank this.
