Are there any always-on cameras that can actually record 14+ hour days?

    I mean theft.

Yes, I take some stuff with me but even if it’s something small, it’s an invasion of my stuff and a breech of our Trust.

Even if they don’t take something, say they are just nosing around to see if there is anything worth stealing… I’ll have it recorded and will go straight to Dealership Management and show them their employee nosing around.

or… if they don’t snoop around my bedroom, then I’ll also know they didn’t get nosy.

paranoid? Maybe, but it’s my bedroom. If you step back there you best have good intentions.

    :D

and if I can add this simple feature to a camera being used daily to record the stupidity of folks or cover my hind side, it would be easy to do.

My dash cam will record about 18 hrs on a 64 gig Micro-SD card... I have it wired to continuous 12v power with a toggle switch so I can shut it off or turn it on as I please... Yes it will record when the truck is turned off.

Why wouldn't you want to record 24 hours per day? That way you can record the idiot who just hit you and is now trying to leave the scene.

This is a question that comes up a lot. You are indeed correct that MANY minor crashes breaking mirrors or scratching bumpers do take place in parking lots, shippers, receivers, and truck stops when the truck is parked. But so do many thefts. I even have a video of a driver walking in front of his own windshield camera getting run over by another driver. If he would have set his camera to stop recording when the truck turns off then he would have lost a huge lawsuit. Lot of times it comes down to how much video storage it has before it records over the older videos.

Put it on the cloud. Many free to low cost cloud storage places are available.

I would want to record 24/7. But the idea was to upload short clips of people I catch on camera doing stupid ####.

You can record 24/7 and just pull out the short clips of stupidity.

Pretty easy to do these days. Create a free YouTube channel and stich them together using the YouTube free editor. Or if you want to get fancier with animated transitions ad effects, the I can suggest the Filmora editor. That one is what I use for my channel videos.
