Just got oil changed at local Ford. One new mustang - that’s it. About 3 used trucks, and the rest of the lot almost bare.
Sales guys never even came out and said hello.

I'm hoping the price of used vehicles tanks once production of new vehicles starts meeting demand. Been looking at 20 to 25 year old pickups for a project. People want 5 figures (or close to it) for an early 90s Chevy/GM 2wd regular cab with 300k+ on the clock. I'll wait another year or 2 for them to drop back to the $4-5k they're actually worth.

Good! We need those new trucks, trailers and parts.slow.rider Thanks this.

We are still hauling them as fast as we can, but much of what I am delivering is sold before I get there. The others go quickly and I have heard some are above sticker. Which is the main reason I bought a new trailer instead of a new pickup truck. When the market cools and inventory is back up my business is graciously buying me a new “service truck”.dwells40, Midwest Trucker, blairandgretchen and 2 others Thank this.

This is what Ford salesman told me. They Had most of the expected vehicles sold already. Also said he has heard people are putting down deposits on cars and the dealer turns around and sells it from underneath them cause someone offered more.Banker Thanks this.

Wow
I have a 2006 4wd limited expedition with 110k , heated & cooled seats etc , my father bought it new .
He lived close to the ocean in Florida so it’s got some rust , but not Michigan kind of rust.
Wonder what it’s worth now ? -
I paid $30,000 cash for my 2007 Ram 2500 with a 5.9L Cummins back in the fall of 2006. Even before the pandemic the last of those 5.9 trucks always commanded a premium but in my area with the 80,000 miles it has on the clock KBB says $28,500 is what it's worth. I find that hard to believe but it's not for sale anyways.

In California probably $10-$12,000. That's fairly low mileage for a truck that age. Not sure if prices in Florida are as high as out here.
