They record all 24/7 on a hard drive located in the truck, the critical event just put a time stamp on the recording ; and all those are looked over by some people. If they deem necessary (aka not a bs recording event as they often happen, they push it up the chain.)

But if need be, you can ask safety to pull 10 minutes or more prior to said critical. Its all there.

I guess certain spots are more hard up for drivers than others. But some are just picky and will throw any slight mark on your application at you to justify not hiring. I still live outside the realm of most hiring areas for LTL/Linehaul(it's a PITA when I see many of the big LTL and fuel outfits doing work in my area, but they're not willing to hire out of here.). So just like some have a record held against them, there's people like me that still get dumped on because we live too far away and are unwilling to deal with mental hassle of dealing with a new area again.

weekends off? good luck. All LTL/Linehaul's require you to work 6 days a week and be available days, nights, weekends and holidays while you're on the extraboard, wild board, or as a system driver. Once you get enough seniority, you'll get to bid and get a set run with a set schedule. Some places have a lot of drivers that their extraboard is 3-5 years deep...meaning you have to work 3-5 years running extra before you even get to bid on a run.

You might want to apply for City P&D if you want weekends off.

I was hired at OD 2 months ago as P&D. I work 5 days a week with a optional Saturday to run linehaul if I want the extra $. The company has been very fair so far to me and I'm making good $ considering I'm starting out on the LTL business from scratch.
Only 2 negatives so far us you do not get overtime until you reach 60 hours a week which I'm averaging 50-55 right now and the newbies shift always starts you out at the later start time during the day. Im working 11am - 9-10pm m-f right now.
As your seniority moves up you will be moved to a 9am, 8am, 7am start times which in my opinion are more desirable so that you get off at a more reasonable hour during the day. If you can get in with OD p&d I would recommend it.

OD is a great company to work for, but if you start out P&D and switch to Linehaul, you do not retain any seniority of any kind and you'll go straight to the bottom of the extraboard.

I want to work for them but I have way too much seniority where I'm at to jump ship right now.

I'm very happy so far with them. The 10k dollar question is how fast I will move up in seniority to get out of the 11am start shift.
I know they are just finishing their drive to get to 55 drivers and I know there are 3or4 new hires coming in behind me still.
I believe one of the ways to move up in seniority the quickest is for new hires to get hired, pushing you up in return

Estes in Indianapolis is putting drivers direct to set M-F runs no extra board positions at this time.
