I've been in a lot of trucks over the last 13 years with 7 different companies and never had clutch or transmission problems.

most volvos have the retarded pushbutton shifter under the stereo and the engine brake on the volvo sucks

the autos in 99 percent of class 8 trucks are not slush boxes they are a manual trans with automated controls

Any companies still running Spicer sticks? I don’t think any OEMs have allowed you to spec those in 20 years but I bet there has to be a few running around still

Your truck should have a "manual" or "hold" mode.
As far as manuals, our crude trucks have 10 speeds and run 70 on the cruise.I like manuals Thanks this. -
