Does 2021 Freightliner software include any sort of active idling suppression software?

I don't want the old truck back, but when it sells, I might well buy a new one, and leave Crete. The old opti idle worked well. This new garbage is worthless.

Are you sure it’s a set up issue or a design issue.?

If you think it's the cooling, set at a higher temp and see if that works. I would make sure the hood safety switch is adjusted correctly first

If it thought the hood was open would the opti idle work at all? Because on mine if the hood is unlatched it won't even set

Maybe it's adjusted right on the edge and just a little movement thinks the hood is open.

    Farmerbob1 and InTooDeep Thank this.

Dealer told me it was set by the manufacturer at the time the truck was built. Dealers are not able to defeat it.
That was why my truck got a PTO switch and prep kit installed, then manufacturer disables idle shutdown.

The new trucks are VERY visual about the requirements for opti idle. If the hood is open, it will throw a big message on the HUD.

Well, ran the truck with AC maxed until the windows fogged up, then set opti idle at about 70 degrees. We will see if I get more than 4 hours sleep before the opti idle runs once, fails, and lets the truck get up to 80+ degrees.

Well, Opti Idle failed again last night, but I cooled the truck enough before I went to bed that I got enough rest to drive today.

I will be going on hometime in about a week, and if they cannot fix the opti idle in the truck during home time so I can sleep well overnight, I will start making noises about a new truck that is not a Freightliner.

Four months ago I was the number 1 in productive miles driven in my division. Three months ago I was the number 2 in the same category. If they want me to run those sorts of miles as a company driver, they need to get serious about fixing my #### truck or getting me into something that works properly.
