I’m OTR and don’t know much about that area. I think that is the South West area. Maybe some of the other drivers will chime in at some point and can help you. Please feel free to ask any questions. We will try to help if we can.

Thanks for the input. I'm thinking about coming to work for FCC, it's on my short list, and I live fairly close to Hawkins Tx is why I was asking. I'd rather be OTR instead of that regional run, tho. When I get a chance to call the folks up there in Nebrasky I'll ask them. Would be a ton better to park there than at the truck stop lol.

I remember as a kid that sometimes playing in the mud was fun but now having to use I-70 going E&W in Colorado playing with mud is just no fun at all!
The picture is taken from Google.... since we’ve been getting Qualcomm messages of I-70 closing and I had my share having to detour I was curious about how it look days ago.

I don’t use I-70 any time of year. There are few places to pull over if you have trouble, virtually no places to park until Grand Junction, and the road is a potholed mess. I run 80 to SLC, then south, not enough miles more to matter and much easier on truck and driver. Depending on origin and destination I drop down to I-40 as well and Ben is happy to reroute for fuel.

That's all good until FedEx has a booboo and lays one over, blocking the whole road.

I don't work with FCC (yet) but I came thru that area on I-70 the morning before that happened. I'm glad my shipper didn't putz around loading me or else I would have been stuck

That’s a good strategy. Also I don’t if anyone has had also the experience that getting into California from Las Vegas, Nevada (or coming out) is a mess of traffic! Usually it was only on the weekends now it’s a gamble.
