The box should be pre cooked at the very least. When I ran 3 zone reefer loads on a WM Dedicated account, I picked it up loaded and running, and didn't shut it off until I was empty and heading back to the DC.bryan21384 Thanks this.

Pre cooled, not pre cooked! LolCanadianhauler21, bzinger, Speed_Drums and 1 other person Thank this.

Ask the customer, I have loaded some places where they want it off while loading, others want it on and yet others who don't say in which case I would leave it running until empty and they hand me the signed BOL.
You won't be paying for reefer fuel so no harm in burning an extra gallon or two.bzinger and bryan21384 Thank this. -
You run the reefer according to how you are dispatched. As to unloading most of the time when I was active I ran the unit until I was empty OR instructed to shut it off. Another thing about a reefer trailer to be mindful of. Many times I had to run mine while en route because I was picking up general freight and the condensation had to be removed. These are things you will learn as you gain experience!bzinger Thanks this.

Depends who you work for. Some companies have their reefer set to shut down when the passenger side back door opens...some of our new ones will only run on low speed cool if the door sensor says the door is open, which sucks when the sensor has a malfunction and says the door is open when it's not. But normally, unless the customer says shut it off you leave it running until they're done.
bzinger Thanks this. -
Call your shop and tell them the sensor is malfunctioning, and that you need to know how to override it.

They'll send you to the dealer...I found a video on youtube on how to override a Carrier door sensor, but when you get to the point where the yes/no choice for overriding the door sensor comes up on the video, it's locked out on our units and our people don't have the option of unlocking it remotely.

Ask the customer.

Leave the reefer running, unless they tell you to shut it off.
