This is what happens in the end of days!!
No flood, but Fire!! Sickness!! Death!!
Can’t tell one season from another!!
We’re doomed.
Timothy 3:1-5
1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God- 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
1 Timothy 4:1 NIV
1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

Actually, there is logging going on....but that timber gets on the truck and goes up to OR for processing, and some to WA to be loaded on a ship destined for somewhere in the Orient. USFS is doing "control burns"....usually where it isn't needed or where it can get out of control when they are having their "mandatory breaks" and at night when no one stayed to monitor the fire(s)....afterall....monitoring can be done from a distance,no need to stay close!

Ok, I’ve made phone calls, all I can find is meat and bone meal to Dumas AR.
I’m on a M&B diet as I’m not hauling it in the heat, it sticks and is a pain in the.. neck & back.
So about to put this thing in the wind on a homeward bound direction.
In other news, still haven’t officially been told load canceled, dude won’t answer the phone.
Other than trying to text other worthless loads.Bud A., Speed_Drums, D.Tibbitt and 6 others Thank this. -

Isn't the vast majority of the lands up there federal land.... Managed by the U.S.F.S.?
IIRC several state admins have asked the feds to adjust their management practices........ Just another federal problem across many administrations.
As far as controlled burns: When they were clearing the old shells and doing controlled burns on Fort Ord I would say it was about two thirds got out of control. And that was coastal chaparral (glorified weeds) not even forest.otherhalftw and Dale thompson Thank this. -
@otherhalftw what of you? How much of a buffer do you have?
Granted these fires get started by individuals.Dale thompson, InTooDeep, homeskillet and 2 others Thank this. -
So many places in Cali have their unique aromas.......
The feed lots along I5 in the valley.
The not so freshly turned under Brussel sprouts along Highway 1.
The sulfurous water near Fresno.
The oil fields in Bakersfield and out near Lost Hills.
The tidal lands at low tide.
The Patchouli on the hippies.Bud A., Dale thompson, lovesthedrive and 3 others Thank this. -
Kettleman Flats,Ca. feedlots....

We have about a 15-20 mile buffer, but as bad as this drought has been distance isn't much of an issue compared to the fuels between us and the fire. Here is a link with a fire boundary map, scroll closer on the map and look west from the southwest corner. You will see French Creek Road and Connie Lane, that is the closest intersection to us. Here is a comparison of now and 5 hours ago...same photo location...no breeze today so smoke is just laying down.
