Adult Bookstores with truck parking?

Really, you hear a lot of guys on the radio at truck stops offering free BJ's? Can't say that I actually have, but I have twice at rest areas.

 

Oh...
One time at a rest area on I-71 OH a cop knocked on my door at midnight....
I saw blue lights so I opened the curtain and he and I were surprise to see each other....
I wonder what he thought to come knock on my door...
He said they were having some vagrants in that area and wanted to know if everything was ok.... But still.... why knock on my door? Didn't see him going to other trucks...
I wonder if he or another officer had seen me that evening when I entered the truck... but still...
I wasn't very happy for being disturbed during my 10 hr break and told him that...
I also thanked him for monitoring the area...
He apologized and went away....

 

Not a lot... but have heard some silly sexual stuff over the CB at truck stops... Never heard anybody offering BJ's at rest areas...

 

Well I did not read this whole thread and I'm not knocking anybody but I'm just curious about this.

In my area there are a few adult bookstores they have been there for maybe 30 years or longer and they're still in business and they've been remodeled so apparently they have a clientele.

But we live in a world where the pornographical is very easily accessible in the palm of your hand... Pardon the pun... I really mean on your phone or your laptop... pardon the pun.

So I think my question is unless it's the actual store that sells Novelties or sexual aids, why would anyone patronize these places? Anything else I would think you can get right on your phone on a big screen in your truck or whatever else it is that you're looking for without needing to physically be there.

The only thing I can think of is if there are men lurking there to service other men apparently but that's not making the establishment any money.

I don't get it.

I never take my 10 in a rest area for a number of reasons. I'll add that to my list

 

Apparently "Those Places" are the truckers equivalent of the "Bath Houses" in Northern California in the 80's. That name always cracked me up. When I learned what they were, it made me want to take a SHOWER! Yuk!! To each his or her own. To quote Seinfeld......."Not that there's anything WRONG with it" !! Lol. That was one of the best shows on TV for YEARS imho.

 

Why in God's name do you need to go to a porn store? You can go to xnxx period com and get it for free with out all the locals giving you the evil eye.

 

I think this thread has determined that "porn stores" are for those that "bat for the same team".
