Walmart I found to be the BEST

I'm glad to hear that, people rip on ol' Sam, but the truth is, for most, the local Walmart is the only game for miles, and I for one, always give a Walmart driver, the thumbs up. They literally bring us our daily bread, and we should be awful grateful for that. There really was no need to list the companies, with a few exceptions, drivers that have been around the block a few times, know full well which companies to stay away from. I hope these all aren't from personal experiences, even I haven't worked for that many companies, but if there is any respect people will give you, it's in a Walmart truck. People can relate to that big Walmart billboard, a plain white non-descript van trailer,, not so much. It's the only place most shop, and I, for one, can't thank you enough, almost like being in the military.
Now,,,if we could only get someone to actually take it off the pallet and put it on the shelves, our Walmart has all kinds of freight sitting in aisles, and they are paying $16 DOLLARS/HOUR, and no takers,,, nice huh? Thanks again, driver.

Do you have your own truck or slip seat?
Do you run all 48 or are you in a region? Im assuming regional with weekly hometime.
Can you choose to stay out longer?

I have 3 years experience running linehaul. But the lure of going out and seeing the country is calling. Walmart and Magnum are both on my short list of possible companies. I see Walmart is hiring home daily drivers in certain areas. I could definitely see running OTR for a few years. Then transferring into a home daily position.

 

I have no idea how Wally World is to drive for, but considering the rest of your list, I’d say I still don’t know.

 

If you are a company driver for Walmart you will slip seat depending on what program you are on. 5/2 or 5/3. You will take your 34 at home not on the road. Normally when you slip seat you will have the same person in your truck when you are off. If you install a cb that’s not a problem if you don’t mind someone using it while you are off.
You will clean your interior before you go home so it is ready for the next driver. They micromanage everything you do but if you can deal with all of that you will easily bump $100K a year. It’s not for everyone but for some it will be a place you retire from. I have many friends that work for them.

 

Problem I see with this review of different companies is that unless you have directly worked for them, an outsiders review is kind of lacking. Almost impossible to make correct assumptions on what it is like to work for a place you never worked for.

 

True. I talk weekly to my friends that work there. They all piss and moan about the hoops they jump though to work there. But laugh all the way to the bank when they get their check.

 

Yeah, nice try Walmart recruiter.
You forgot to mention
Driver facing camera - check.
Monitoring you phone by not allowing you talk on a phone while driving even with Bluetooth - check.
Slip sitting - check.

Do I need to look for topics when people was complaining few years ago that Walmart started to cut their salaries , or you smart enough to do it yourself?
