I won't disagree with you. I do find it fascinating how this works. I was in my Facebook group asking and was told that most likely it was not DMV that messed up. This person said most of this is automated and the actual information is entered by the examiner that did the road test. All the DMV clerk does is make sure everything is in place, get a copy of the physical and get a photo and you're $$$. If it was the examiner the DMV will consider it an unrestricted CDL. So in this case I think it would be prudent to check it. Here in Virginia we can go onto the state DMV website and see the current status of all DLs,

As I no longer have a CDL I borrowed a screengrab I took of another guy that I was helping him get something right with his. In this screengrab, you can see that Virginia lists the restrictions. You can check that CDL in the system most likely by just going online.

Well, right now a lot of DMVs are closed to general walk-ins. I still think a quick online check is the best.
