I really like Pete 379 at local dealer but it has drums all way around. I was wondering how intensive is swapping to disc brakes? How much is average cost roughly?

Different axle housings, hubs and spindles.
Studebaker Hawk Thanks this. -
Steer is "cheap" quoted about 3 or 4 k a few years ago, probably get cheaper if you just replace with used axle with discs and sell your steer axle.
The drives... someone was working on a quote for me and i just stopped em when they got to about 12k estimate, at that point may as well stretch frame with a donor that already had discs. -
That sucks. Probably could've had ordered that option for a few k when truck was built on assembly line

With all the wrecked trucks, how much is it just to buy the used running gear at a junkyard and swap it in?
-
In the Chicago area you might be lucky to find a truck that hit a bridge. I wouldn't touch a running gear that was involved in a run off road or rollover.

Found a 60k mile freight liner disk brake cut off for under $4k replaced the 1million mile back half over a couple weeks…….
