I don't think Crete has the battery APU or SSB wouldn't be complaining about the Opti-Idle. The ParkSmart systems I've used in Freightliners were excellent honestly. During a 34 the Opti-Idle would start the engine once to charge the batteries and that was it.

Yeah, it's a straight up engine powered system. Hell, the battery system that International has did a better job than this opti-idle crap.

Well, I have bad news for all the good little boys and girls. The Chinese beer flu has killed Santa. My wife's farmers market has a Santa every year for the kiddos...but her santa died from complications from covid today. He had been in the hospital and the ICU for the last 3.5 weeks, and the 1st week, things were improving, but then went downhill after that. So no Santa at her market this year.

I am testing the company. Since last week I have decided not to donate any more of my personal data to scan in their paperwork. Every load has been scanned at a truckstop, and so far, they haven't complained...but now I mentioned it to my wife to see if they're listening, and now I posted it here to see if they're reading my stuff again. We shall see.

    SSB,

I think that you are missing the big picture? You seem to want to work for companies that pay by the mile. You know of course that you don't get paid for every mile that you drive. That's how OTR companies make more money off of the backs of their drivers? Now you want to work for a company that has 50 - 75 employees? What does the number of employees matter?

Biden is trying to push thru an Executive Order mandating that every company with 100 or more people force their employees to get the beer flu vaccine or face $14,000 fine per employee who doesn't comply. It was a tongue-in-cheek sarcastic jab at the jab mandate. It was an attempt to make a back handed political statement, without getting a political discussion started and getting this thread locked. And before we go down the percentage pay route...please detour, I have worked for percentage companies in the past, the pay is too variable for me...and I hate deadheading for a load for free, and then trusting that the invoice amount the company shows the driver is actually the amount they are charging the customer.

Maybe one day you will find the perfect company for you. Good luck, but I think once you have been independent it's hard to work for anyone. Just my opinion

I think he went belly up doing the independent thing. He’ll chose another mega disaster and we’ll hear all about soon enough.

Yeah, I think that's part of it. But right now I'd be happy to find a company with decent equipment that pays an acceptable rate, low micromanagement and reasonable priced health insurance. I can shoot for perfection later on.

    JForce28 Thanks this.

When you can lay it over in a ditch, and nothing comes off.

Got held up a bit east of Indy today. I made it to the rest area before they shut the road down. Appearantly he wasn't paying attention to the stopped traffic in that construction zone and ditched it rather than crashing into the back of a semi. There was another driver in our backup that said one of his co-workers was the guy he almost hit. Scared the crap out of him when he went off-roading beside him. Not sure why they shut it down unless there was something else going on, that is clearly off the road enough to get by.

    Lonesome Thanks this.
