Many here seem knowledgeable about driving for Walmart, so could you please answer a question for me? I will ALWAYS test positive for amphetamines because I’ve been prescribed Adderall by my physician for the past 20 years- always current and easily provable. The wording in the application process indicates disqualification if any “controlled substance” is indicated by the drug test. A current doctor’s prescription would be an exception, right? Heck... I actually pick up the prescription every month from Walmart Pharmacy. Will it be a problem? It hasn’t been with any other employer, but the application wording concerns me.

Bring prescription with you, tell dude at test site, show prescription, they’ll note it.

Yep judge nailed it. Not a big deal just show the testing guy the prescription and it will be noted. When you are flagged as positive it gets disregarded as soon as they verify its from a needed medication in most cases.

I’m not sure about Walmart but I will add this. Years ago I had my wisdom teeth pulled. I was prescribed a pain killer that I only took at bedtime so I was able to rest. I showed up at orientation for a company. I had a copy of my prescription and a note from the prescribing doctor because it was obviously going to show in my whiz quiz. And although it was legal the company wouldn’t hire me. They said even though it was legal their rules would not allow me to be hired. So I would do my research before showing up and expecting to work. If the company says it’s cool I would get it writing as to not end up on the first Greyhound smoking out of town.
