Most places are best I have seen, gotta have an easement for access. Not to say it didn't happen way back when, but can't imagine any municipality going for that these days.

New Star Car's are different looking, but I like the looks of the couple I've seen.

    It would.
In the late 70s early 80s most small native villages above latitude 54degrees on Saskatchewan and eastern Manitoba had 2 gensets similar to that to power the village (they ran 1 at a time and serviced the other every 700 hours then it was on standby). they were mostly V12 Cats with some V16 Cats and a couple of 12V149 Detroits.
I was one of 10 to transport fuel and oil to the reserves year-round for 3 years, a 5300 imperial gallon tank load would last about 16 to 25 days depending on weather and daylight hours.
A shorter trip from Regina to say Pinehouse Lake was 6 hours on pavement and 7 hours on bush roads each way. No logs and run until you can't then into the bunk for 5 or 6 and back at it during the winter. La loch SK was a medium trip at 8 hours paved and 9 hours bush. Stony Rapids was a long one at 8 hours paved and 14 or 16 hours bush.
some of the more remote reserves still run on diesel today but some now have power to them if they are 150 miles from Sask#2 highway

I woke up this morning thinking "man would it be great to bust my ### all day, then go and replace the starter on my pickup!"

Actually no that's a lie. I didn't want to do it at all. On the plus side I got the last one in stock, they're on backorder and start to finish it only took about 35 minutes.

    Adulting sucks sometimes.

I like the new 49X as a daycab. Not so much with a sleeper.

Bingo, if that engine is even close to stock the OEM radiator size should be plenty. Many times we treat the symptom and not the root cause, much like our own FDA does, lol.

It’s a guy I know that owns a generator shop. He’s building 2 for a customer. 1 Meg of power and it is a v12 cat. They are putting them in a container trailer to be pulled. I’m going to go see it up close when I get time if he’s not finished with it.
