If it is a big shop that did the bad repair, get on their website and give them a bad review, and tell your story on every site you can. They may have a change of heart. To get you to erase your posts.

I was going to, but I've been advised to wait until they follow through with paying the dealer for this. We just want the truck back asap. I've tried talking to them, and the manager is very rude.

My plan is to send them a invoice with the tow bill, any expenses like plane tickets to get him home and back to truck, gas, this rental fee etc. I want to give them an opportunity to show what their customers mean to them when something like this happens. I'm not out to destroy them, but I want to feel like our 7 weeks with out truck, 13,000 repair bill and this issue caused from their work means something to them.

If possible, try to talk to the owner. Sometimes, if you stay calm, keep it professional and have all of your ducks in a row, they will take of the situation.

I’ve gone that route before and it worked out very well. Remember, employees don’t have the company’s best interests in mind. They’re mostly going to CYA.

We did. They wont help with any of the expenses that's resulted from this. They said their insurance doesn't cover it. I will invoice them and give them an opportunity to make this right. Maybe I'm reaching too far, but I would help my customer if my tech caused sort of loss. Especially 13,000 later, 7 weeks, and only 2000 into a trip. Maybe the tech wasnt qualified enough, we just dont know. But I will def leave reviews and go from there.

No it wasn't. I was just letting you know that this was the DOT inspection and the shop had to do the repairs to get our certificate.

I had a problem once with a transmission install. Had to have it pulled, bolts replaced and reinstalled a month later. I took all my receipts. Put them in an envelope. Listed them all on the outside. Hotel, car rental, lost revenue included. It all added up to quite a bit more than the original $800. I told the original Shop Owner I’d have no other choice than take him to small claims court, unless I get a refund. Holding the envelope so he could see all the extra costs/losses. When he asked what I wanted, told him I’ll give you the same deal you gave me, $800 cash. He gave Me the original $800 back. Fair enough. I was actually surprised he did. He wasn’t very happy about it. They originally did the Job in a short time. His Mechanic screwed up, being in a hurry. They also left the fill plug out, lost half the oil before noticing it. Brand new trans! It happens. People make mistakes. They should stand behind their work. Insurance coverage or not. Insurance excuse sounds like BS designed to discourage you. Probably don’t even have such a policy.

Wow that's terrible. Im going to send an invoice once this is over. Hoping they can get the parts soon. When they replaced the housing, tech didn't torque the 3 bolts. They ended up hitting the gears and broke in pieces. One shot out, which was the cause of that hole in the photo i shared. All of the gears are destroyed an the new housing. I think the shop is paying out of pocket because they don't want to file a claim. Napa warrantee is covering the housing. But they're refusing to pay any of our expenses. Actually the manager told my spouse that he doesn't go asking for money if one of their service trucks break. Which really shows their true colors because I'm sure they wouldn't have a tech screw it up so bad causing them to loose a truck! We still don't know 100 percent if the truck has a cracked block. They're still pulling it apart. But ill invoice them and give them 30 days, then move to the next step. Might have to file a small claims.
