That being said 5 days wouldn't be so bad if they'd been honest from the start instead of letting me think I'd get a couple weeks off if I was out for 5-6 months.N00bLaLoosh Thanks this. -
Well, looks like this might be the end of my journey with them. What broke the camels back was rather than getting me to the main yard like I'd requested, they put me almost a full day past that with no indication of how I'm actually getting there afterwards. Maybe I'm just burnt out and need a vacation they're not offering me, maybe I'm just not meant for OTR.
I'd planned on dealing with the situation at the yard I'd started at, but if I'm being honest, I'm so burnt out I don't even want to deal with the ridiculously tight warehouse I'd have to pick up from. Really, it shouldn't even still be there in what's now a tight residential area but that's another rant.
Got unloaded late tonight and the only spots still open at the nearby TA were the ####ty unlit ones. Not that I could've fit in them anyway because nobody could color within their own lines. On the way to the yard further down the road is when I decided enough was enough.
Yeah, it's not always going to be a fun job but I'm having a hard time remembering the last load I really enjoyed. Between the lack of parking, nearly constant beeps from the nanny ######## on this truck and the general assholery of everyone we're forced to share the road with I've had it. It's getting to where I'm annoyed more than not and having stayed at jobs that made me that way longer than I should've, I don't want to go down that road and become that person that's mad at the world before they're even out of bed again.
Sorry but not sorry, I need a break and if you won't work with me on it when I say I'm burnt out, I'll do what I have to to get that break. -

They all lie! ALL OF THEM! You have to standup for yourself and if that backfires and you gone up with an “X” on your back as a result, move on!
The company I’m with so often not have loads when I return to the yard. They tell me to sit, but refuse layover pay? How have a handled that? “Oh hey you got no loads, ok, heading home, call me when you do, if I’m available I’ll let you know, if you wanna pay me layover pay, I’ll sit here at the yard or nearby. If you demand I sit, without pay, well I guess you can meet my attorney.”
best way to avoid it, is move on. F-them.mjd4277, bryan21384, snowlauncher and 1 other person Thank this. -
