Don't worry what others make, worry about what you need to make. Those who can run on 2 dol and are still floating while your ship sunk like Titanic, they are that much more capable than you.
Nobody in their right mind takes loads that pay 2 dol per mile while you can get twice as that, but when the low rates are back nobody is going to care about what your cost of running the truck is.Chieftains, Evil_E, Badmon and 3 others Thank this. -
I think back then I was shooting for $1,000/day average, but happy enough with $850/day - after the cut.Speed_Drums, mjd4277, lynchy and 3 others Thank this. -
One thing to remember if you are staying inside a 200ish mile radius of home base insurance costs are drastically cheaper than an OTR operation.
And there is value to being close to home, knowing your route and knowing where your next load is coming from.
1000$ a day 5 days a week 52 weeks a year is 260,000. Obviously not likely to run at 100% all year but that's not terrible for dedicated
