they went off to do their own thing first of the year. But to answer you question, no they are not running blades as the rates and availability were gutted this year. Almost have to pay to move them. They are back running 7/8 axle freight.

as good as it has been for the van and flat guys- it has been that bad mostly for the heavy guys

That will be answered when the oil pan comes off. Try to fix this then drop the pan. My dad Got the hole tapped one size bigger but he’s got to make a sleeve to hold the guide in place since the new bolt won’t be made like the original one is. If this doesn’t hold the block is ruined.

I've been seeing ATS running a bunch of blades lately. A driver told me he got out of it because of them.

ATS is the largest player in the game - there are other things I could have said but didn’t.

Yes it would be late 40’s. The 8N came out in 1948.

The 8N was discontinued in 1952 because of the lawsuit between Ford & Ferguson.

1950 they changed the engine to a “side distributor”, earlier models all had front distributors.

Front distributor models continued to keep the generator on the right side of the engine from operators view….

With the introduction of the side distributor the generator was in the way, therefore the generator was moved to the left side of the engine from the operators view.

All N series from 1939 till the introduction of the 8N side distributor, had the generator on the right side….
