Yeah, no one should do reefer. Its just a big headache, no money, and potatoes rot in the trailer and make it stink. Stick with dry van. Leave reefer to me.

I’m not sure if we are just in a good area but it’s crazy we are pulling power only dry van loads right now for 2.63 a mile. To me that’s crazy good money. The silly thing is this is not our only option. We have others asking if we can get a truck over for 2.54 a mile. It’s nice to have options. The last 3 days we’ve made $7500 both of us only having to drive 5 hrs a day. It sure is nice to sleep while the truck is sitting.

What’s is super crazy is when I started driving as a company driver fresh out of school my pay was .30 a mile and my husband because he had experience his pay was .35 a mile. So .65 a mile and the company we worked for had us out 6 days a week and running about 3500 miles. We were making peanuts compared to what we are making now. And now we will work until we make 10,000-15,000 very doable in a week even less than a week. Than we go back home for a few days. Sleep rinse repeat.

And the craziest of all is once you finally decide to hang it up. Your active Mc # you can sell it for thousands of dollars. So that’s like your 401 k retirement bonus money.

    Pamela1990 Thanks this.

It's not gloom and doom. Folks are just pointing out the reality of the situation. We are kinda in uncharted territory right now and what happens next is anyone's guess. I have my own authority and wouldn't have it any other way. However, this business isn't a one size fits all.

@staceydude and @zmster2033 have both done it - zero experience.

One bought my trailer, one bought my truck. Both went own numbers.

All depends on the nut behind the wheel.
