Where do you shower?

I hang my towel from the upper bunk until it’s dry, doesn’t take too long.

 

Yet, you always smell fresh as a daisy.

 

I usually hang it on the passenger seat backrest.

 

Yes as long as one has access to water that can be achieved. Don't think I ever missed out on a shower once, like had to wait a while at some of the busier truck stops like Flying J in Phoenix, Flying J Aurora and on the odd occasion did have to pay for a shower because I could not buy fuel and get the free shower. Keeping in mind that shower costs while on the road are tax deductible.

 

That’s because I always make it a point to give the land down under a good, thorough scrubbin’, and I dab a little vanilla extract behind the ears.

 

A company driver who can fuel at Loves would be wise to get the 1000 gallons a month for the unlimited showers and drink refills. It was always my custom to stop at a loves anytime from 9:00 till 11:00 or 13:30 til 16:30 to fuel and or grab a shower without having to deal with that shower que.

I would just do what I needed to do and not worry about if the combined on duty fuel/ park and off duty shower went over the 30 mins. It always did and I never gave a single gosh darn about it. If they give you static just make sure your ELD cycles to drive between fueling and parking, giving you a full 30 mins to shower and get whatever from the store. Bottom line, I ain’t waiting in the shower line during my 10 (which if you drive hard should easily be an 11-12 hour break without any issue anyway.)

The Loves app makes it easy to see if theres a wait for a shower as soon as you pull in but it also gives drivers 10 minutes to wobble from there trucks so if theres 3 drivers ahead of you you could be waiting a while so I’d just drive on to the next loves and repeat the process. Usually always got a shower every day without waiting.

How does one go about getting the 1000 gallons a month deal at Loves ?

 

Sign up for Loves rewards and buy 1,000 gallons in a month, you are then entitled to unlimited drink refills (coffee & sodas) and unlimited showers the following month.

 

You have to pretty much exclusively buy your fuel at loves. Which may be getting more difficult to do as more Megas are going the way of dictating specific stops to buy fuel along your route. I always ignored that but they might hold a new drivers feet to the fire. You’ll need a professional drivers Loves Reward card of course. I used to call it my Loves Country Club Card because when you’re doing a 34 hour reset at Loves its like being at a glamorous resort. All in all its not really that hard to get free showers when you need them, it was just convenient to be able to not have to think about it other than making sure you fueled at Loves. The free coffee was a nice perk too.
