@Tug Toy a simple thanks on that post is not enough for what you’re doing. There’s not many people left that would help someone like you are. I have seen in this group what I remember as a kid growing up in a small town and that is help thy neighbor. I want to thank you and all the rest for what y’all do both with hands on and in the knowledge y’all have. There’s so much knowledge in this group it’s unreal.

Every M11 leaks at that header plate, so don't feel bad. Pro tip: get a tube of Cummins gray silicone and apply a small amount on both sides of the new gasket and torque it back down per manual.

I feel ya. I see alot of paccar getting out to 900 plus before needing major work. Some fail before then obviously but some run on out. That red t660 had 950k on it and fired off before one whole turn of the crank it seemed. Mechanic said it sounded good (also told me generally he sees them run to around 1.1m before little things start popping up, oil looked good, really the auto is the only reason I decided against it.

I'd like to find something with an N14 in it. But like you I'd like the newer 05+ interior.

I guess the paccar motors themselves are pretty decent. However, most guys are having problems with the def system. I've got a buddy with one. He loves the engine, hates the def system. Nothing but problems out of it. Plus, you can't get the software for it.....suck. I just don't want to dick with def and all that goes with it. It would be nice to have a nicer and quieter truck.

That’s a nice thing to say but the truth is my shop, tools and hospitality is open to anyone on this forum if they want it. Now that being said, I’m not fixing anyone’s equipment for them… I will help them learn to fix there stuff themselves but, I’m not fixing it for them!

There may be time limits imposed under some circumstances….

    Lol

And Mikey has been a good student.

Whoever says girls are easier to raise than boys.......are ########. Our boys were so much easier! Now my daughter flat refuses to drop a duece in the toilet because it scare her. Seriously......wtf? We were out and about and she said she had to go. So....away we went. In public they have those auto flush toilets. Well, apparently the auto flush scared her. Now....no more toilets in her future. So now now she just craps on the floor like a ####ing untrained dog. Gees. Why is this even a thing?
    Learn from me young guys.....learn.....lol

That's what I hear and have experienced. Engine wise there's few problems. Aftertreatment is a nightmare. Makes you wonder just how good it'd be if it didn't have that on it from factory.

@pushbroom I believe had said he had seen or heard of one that was turned up crazy high and ran hard for a longevity experiment from paccar. I don't remember full details of it but he could elaborate if he pops in.

If I heard right, the paccar engine has been out overseas for quite awhile with little to no problems. All of the trucks that I personally know that are down right now are due to aftertreatment issues. Every one. Well except one pink one....he doesn't count though. ;)
