Cb question

Does your Cobra 29 NW have the mechanical knob for changing channels? I think it does. If you spend a few minutes turning the channel knob around and around, back and forth to wear away any oxidation, It may not help, but It always made me feel like I was doing something. The copper contacts do oxidize over time.

 

It may just need a cb shop to peak and tune (if they can on that model). I had an old cobra 25 that showed that everything in terms of the swr was good, but it was a bit off frequency on transmit, and out of adjustment on receive (I could see further than I could hear). Took it to a reputable cb shop and they put it on their scope and tuned it. Then everyting worked like it should. I currently use a bearcat 880 and I have read that there is nothing inside they can improve on with that model radio so I'm not sure if your radio is not tuneable like my current one.
