Already a shortage of logging trucks, mechanics, and welders here, so that theory doesn't work here.
Logging trucks are making $400/hr, all a driver has to do is make their cycle time, which generally speaking isn't hard to do. On particularly nasty weather days, I can't make my cycle time, oh well. Because for every day I am behind, I average 2 days where I am ahead of it. Me I love hauling logs, I can pretty much negotiate a higher rate when I want to, not just accept their offer, because they know 30 other loggers will hire me to pull their wood. My truck has made the most money the last 10 years in a row, of every truck in the fleet.
Mechanics wanted signs at every shop in every town around the region, they can choose where to work, not begging to be hired, and they make good money.
Welders are also in high demand, you best own a welder, and know how to use it, or not mind waiting 5 weeks minimum for someone to show up and weld your whatever.

 

100%. Most mechanic/welding shops could care less about whether or not you've been jabbed.

 

Neither do loggers.

The guys I was pulling for, not the owner, nor a person on his crew has been jabbed.

 

Even the school boards around here backed off when they realized how many drivers would be quitting. Hard enough to fill the seats as it is. One board did mandate the vaxx, they lost 15 of 55 drivers.
Our exposure has to be the most. Most buses do 2 runs am and pm. 140+ window lickers a day walking by.

If you are in the US you can tell them to $%ck off and take them to court and they will pay all your back wages.
