It's not so much the job that is an issue, it's the planners here that are the issue. I am convinced that some of these people couldn't plan a trip to the crapper without screwing it up and making a deposit in their Depends™. It's a sad statement about your regular Op's department when your short staffed night and weekend crew does a better job than your weekday day shift. I know, I know, there is a labor shortage, I think some of our planners take the short shuttle bus from the special school every morning(because they couldn't plan to come in every morning without screwing that up too). Then the issues they create causes friction between Butthead and I, which then causes an increase in tention and attitude.

I started at Crete the last year or so of the 'Load Select' system, before Asset Managers, and it was way better than it is now...way way better. The A/M program has never been usefull, IMO...just one more layer of micromanaging. As far as 'owing me' anything, that's not really how I see it. It's more of a partnership...we need each other in order to succeed. I have a part to play, they have a part to play...if they do their part right, then I can do my part, hopefully right. If they don't do their part, then it keeps me from doing mine. And right now, the planners are having a hard time doing their part right consistently.Last edited: Dec 11, 2021
Itsbrokeagain, RussianBearTruckeR, xlsdraw and 3 others Thank this. -
I left a couple of years ago because I had just plain had it with my asset manager. At that point they offered to change managers but I decided to go pound nails for a few months, which did a lot for my mental health but not so much for my wallet.Came back 5 months later as dedicated, no asset manager and limited dealings with Lincoln. You’ll have to find your own way but don’t stay mad all the time. It really wrecks your own health.
Itsbrokeagain, Crusader66, nredfor88 and 6 others Thank this. -
Mine would be if it weren’t for favoritism in the office.

Sooner or later when you have similar issues with every job it might be time to have a have a discussion with the one in the mirror.
Crusader66, drvrtech77 and gentleroger Thank this. -
I think butthead and I could work together just fine if it weren't for the half-witted planners. If they could learn what a PTA and a 14-hour clock was, we wouldn't have as many problems, but when I say I can't do a load because either I won't be available or it's beyond my 14 (and many times over by enough there is no way, and not enough to split log), then I hear his b.s. which pushes the big red A-hole button.
I was actually thinking that just the other day...I wonder if we got some old Big G planners that wanted to leave an income tax free state and come live in the god-forsaken state of cornfusionLonesome Thanks this. -
My alarm clock this morning.
