CFL closing today

Did someone buy them out? Or are they just closing the doors?

Goodness. I guess that may be good for people looking to buy a truck or trailers. But I can’t imagine a trucking company just closing I would think some bigger outfit may want to buy them up. I guess maybe it was a poor place to work. Maybe crappy equipment to. I really don’t recall seeing them out on the highways so idk. Not the outcome a trucking company would want to just close shop.

 

Someone will surely buy their equipment and hire their drivers. I don't trust Jerry Moyes as far as I can throw him, so while I have some ideas about motives, allegedly a sale was not feasible given their debt.

 

Hate it for the employees, but those ######## were the no payingest ########## I ever did any work for. Good riddance

 

Not surprising. Supposedly, they were in debt up to their eyeballs. They’ll probably stiff the creditors and then re-open as Central Logistics.

 

Interesting. We just had 86 defect tires picked up by them on Friday to go back to the manufacturer for R and D inspection. The pick up was done through Knight Transportation. Driver didn’t mention a thing.

 

I've worked there for the last 8 years. What sucks is having to start over again.. They are still running freight that has already been picked up, but aren't picking up any more freight as of this morning. Looking for a new job right now.
