Can you put triple rails on if you can't move? I've tried and have been mostly unsuccessful

Absolutely. If on a hill you should be able to back down a foot or two. If on level ground and you can’t rock back and forth you should still be able to wedge the chains and get it to roll under when you rotate the drives.

Last Call and lester Thank this.

And then there was last year’s tragedy in the DFW Metroplex along I-35W during the ice storm where everyone was slamming into each other hammer down!!

    5 people died that night.
It’s not so much the snow, but the ice you have worry about!

Every one of those drivers should have been charged criminally. It’s insane to think they were going that fast on ice or in fog.

Therein lies the problem. They don't realize that it is icy until too late. Many are not accustomed to scrutinizing road conditions when they look as if they are bare, especially in areas where they rarely get these conditions.

Flat Earth Trucker and mjd4277 Thank this.

The thing is at the time weather forecasters had WARNED about the changing weather conditions at least 3-5 DAYS IN ADVANCE,as this was the result of a storm system that was moving across the country.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

I wasn't making excuses for them, just trying to point out that I doubt it was intentional - hence in my opinion criminal charges is a bit strong.

You kill someone driving impaired you are screwed and I can bet that 99% of the time it’s unintentional. Same with running down the highway at 70 mph in a 80K rig or a pickup. You need to know your surroundings especially if you live in a state that doesn’t run Winter tires in Winter. As well, I don’t believe not one of those vehicles didn’t feel it break loose even a little before the accident.
