I’m currently leasing a brand new 2022 KW T680, it came governed at 70mph, the company I am contracted and leasing through doesn’t care if I tune up the speed, the manufacturer had the speed set to 70 and they’re just not paying for it to be bumped up.
Does anyone know which tuner will work for a Paccar MX-13 engine on a 2022 KW T680? From what I researched Big Bully won’t work because the truck model and year doesn’t fall within the covered specs for the tuner.
Which performance tuner should I get?

Is there any issues with warranty if a tuner is installed?
LoneRanger, visionarygvp, Diesel Dave and 2 others Thank this. -

If they don’t care, then take it to a dealer.

If the ECM is password locked and you don't have the password a tuner or power programmer won't do anything for the truck. Needs to be unlocked and uprated by a qualified shop.

Sounds like a great way to void your warranty.
Better off getting written permission from the truck's owner and getting the governor changed at the dealership. Probably cheaper too.LoneRanger, Oxbow, visionarygvp and 1 other person Thank this. -
If your trying to boost the horses thata a whole new can-o-worms and there is a LOT more to it then a custom tune.visionarygvp, JoeyJunk and AModelCat Thank this. -
If it’s a 2022 then it’s the latest round of greenhouse gas motors and from what I’ve been told there’s not much you can do to them once they leave the factory. When I got my new 579 the dealer set the speed, I’m not sure if they’re allowed to change it once it’s set on these new ones.

My buddy bought a used 2018 or 2019 579 last year. MX13. He was disappointed with the power. The dealer never changed the parameters that the previous tanker company had set. It was an easy fix and everything improved with performance, power, MPG, etc. Maybe just have this checked first and see if you are happy with it.

Edit. Not comparing pickups to semis. Just memories I was reminded of.visionarygvp Thanks this.
