8-10k is normal and nothing special for Reefer these days. You can dispatch yourself, too easy. Isn’t that the point to have your authority. Run your own business

 

What was the purpose of getting your own authority ??

If your just a driver there MAY be a benefit to it but if your a business person you would never hire someone else to find your business for you. This isn't a minor ? But goes to the heart of the purpose of what you are doing. Think about it.

 

Yeah, 48 is no good.

Have you looked at any load boards? In this market it’s extremely easy to find loads.

 

Since there are 2 of you instead of 1 there is no reason to hire a Dispatch service. 1 person drives the other person is the office. Dont be afraid to dial for dollars , the more calls you make the more you learn. If you need cash flow talk to your banker , ask about getting a line of credit of $50 K or $100 K. Don't take no for an answer from your banker. Ask them "what would our BUSINESS have to look like to get a lending relationship started ?) Stay away from factoring. Look into power only with carriers that is a nice bridge until you get more on your feet.

 

Look on the load boards for "power only" loads. You bobtail to a location and pickup a loaded trailer, deliver it and get another power-only load. If you can drop your 48 foot trailer at home or someplace convenient you can earn money without a trailer. Some of these loads allow you to run freight in the trailer you just pulled for days before you drop it off. In that time you can haul freight inside of their trailer.

There is a good, honest truck driver on YouTube called Steady Trucker. He is doing power-only. He posts his numbers each week in his videos.
