How early do all the big box stores start ordering mulch for the spring? I caught the tail end of it last year and while it didn't pay as well as being OTR there is a place close enough to where I live that I can make day runs out of it. I'd like to do it exclusively this year while it's running to have a little more home time with the family.

Last month lol. I accepted a short load to get me home thinking it was rock salt. Sure enough it was freaking mulch. Made a muddy mess out of my dry van. Went to a Rural King. Got talking to the employees about how this was odd for the time of year. Guy said not at all with how early they start putting spring stuff out. I still think it was too early.

Flatbed? I saw a load in MO the other day. Thought it was a little early.

That's surprising, I haven't seen a load of it pop up yet in my area.

Not a load I love, but if it pays slot machines I'll entertain it. Usually it doesn't flow well for my area - like, a lot of traffic lights and such. You've gotta be real careful with it on a flat.

Down here in Texas, the big box stores are bringing it into the stores and DCs. And they are bringing in pine straw by the truck load a well
By the end of the month people start thinking about their garden's and by the end of February the hands will be in the dirt. Oh, top soil outta WA too please.

It runs almost year 'round up here. Pot growers use a lot of it.

And don't forget the pandemic buying madness. People at home with nothing to do but tend their gardens, grow their pot, etc, and they don't want to end up on the shortage end of the buying paying more for it when it starts to run low. :)

Our local growers seem to have that part of it figured out. ;)
