Still not seeing the "fantasy" so I'm hoping you can help me out. Here's the question again:

The fantasy has to either be in one of the three assumptions, or in the goal, which is to maximize the number of miles you can drive. It's obviously realistic to assume you can only drive 11 hours per work shift---pretty sure you're not calling that one fantasy---and I doubt you're calling the goal fantasy. That leaves assumptions (1) and (2).

Wait...I get it now...neither of those assumptions, taken literally, ever actually happens in real life. Wow I never noticed that until now. It's a great observation. Will do my best to keep it real next time.

Keeping track of your seat time is important too. Maxing out your 70 all year long will have you driving the better part of 3000 hours in a year. That is a lot of wear and tear on your heart and soul. Most Americans work 2000 hours a year, only in the trucking industry are drivers asking how they can work 33% more....

We also typically make 2-3 times what the average American makes. If a driver applies themselves.

Did you want a real answer or are you trolling your own thread?

Assuming you're not trolling it. I gave you the answer in my first response.

It would take a perfect world to answer the question asked. Because our days and driving are based on our loads.

Some loads will allow/require you to run your full 11 hour clock every day to get it done. Others it's going to be dumb to do it. Because you'll be there too early.

    Loads pickup/deliver 24 hours.

For me personally. I prefer to get up at 0600, be on the road by 0700, pull an 8.75hr work day, be parked before the TS are full and run on recaps.

    Because I hate sitting around.

But that's not what always happens. Sometimes I have to churn and burn my 70 to get a tight load delivered. I've even had to flip to nights to use my recaps to make sure a three stop delivery was on time.

    Cuz life happens.

I’d rather kill 70 and look forward to the 36 off rather then recap an not see a day off in sight.

    Yup.

Because I don't like sitting for a day and a half.
I would rather have a couple more hours off each day.

It is either burn it hot for 6 days and then sit for almost 2 days trying to recover, or maintain an easy time every day.

I can burn my 70 in 5.5 days... By time day 8 rolls around I'm already about 20 hours through my second 70... If I so choose to. I ran like that for 3 months straight 2 years ago.

How do you do it??? A 10 hour break is 10 hours!!!! Not 10.5, not 12, not 13... As soon as that clock ticks past 10 hours I was On Duty for my Pre-Trip and fueling... 10 to 15 mins later I was grabbing gears.

Why didnt I run like that more often??? Its EXHAUSTING!!!! I will almost guarantee that running your guts out and burning your 70 as quickly as possible, taking no more than 10 hours 5 mins breaks, and then doing a 34 you will cover more ground... But your body and mind will pay for it dearly.

My all time best 7 consecutive days was 4254 miles. My best ever 14 consecutive days was 7600 and change.
