Im about to start my Truck driving training in 5 weeks from today. However, i plan on relocating to Dallas, Tx in about 4 months from now. Honestly, i don't know if this is the best thing to do. So im looking to get some advice from some experienced trucking drivers or others who might have done something similar to what Im trying to attempt now.

    My specific questions are:

° Will a company be willing to hire me fresh out of training from another state?

° Should i wait until i relocate first and then enroll in a trucking school in Texas ?

° If i obtain my license from Alabama will i have to take the permit and license test again ?

    Thanks in advance

Depends on the company to go with. Most OTR companies don't care which state your cdl is from as long as you're in the hiring area.
If you work for an OTR company and then move to Dallas, and that company also hires Texas drivers, then you're ok.
After you're there, then change your cdl to Texas with your new Texas address. Then you can tell the company you moved to Texas.
No, you won't have to start over with a cdl permit. Just go to the DMV in Texas with proof you live in Texas. You might have to do the Hamzat endorsement over again, but that's all.
When I moved to Nevada from Tennessee, all I had to do is give the DMV my new Nevada address, take an eye exam at the DMV, the DMV took my new photo and gave me the new Nevada license.

Yeah, go to school now, get CDL, hire on with a co. (that will still let you work there when you move to Tx.), move to Tx. in 3 months, switch your CDL from Al. to Tx. (which is necessary if you are a resident) OR, put school on back burner until you make the move. The big obstacile will be hiring on with a co. now and staying with that co. after the move.

I would wait to get CDL until after you move. Once you start working you will have minimum time off. Moving your CDL from one stat to another all of your endorsements will be accepted by new state but you will have to re-take the HazMat test, if you have one.

    If you can still
Receive mail at your current address
There’s no need to rush to change the license to another state .

    who’s gonna know ?
If a cop ever asks “is this the correct address “ you just say yes .
If you say “no” they will ask
“How long have you lived at the new address “ and if you answer more than 30
Days , you just got yourself another ticket .

but your job is getting paid to travel so who’s gonna know ?

Check out companies like tyson foods or others. Let them know you are planning on moving. Shouldnt have an issue finding a good job.
