Mine was a 2016 Timpte. I bought it June of 2020 and it had sat for nearly a year. First thing I did was take it to my friend’s shop and have them replace the hucks on the front slope, the row of them that are about landing gear height. There were also loose hucks on the sub frame in the back that were cut out and replaced with frame bolts.
Timpte won’t build the big doubles and quads like Wilson will. And they also won’t deviate from their axle spacings on a triple.
Cattle trailers….I spent a few years pulling Wilson spreads and one summer I pulled a Merritt after I got a ticket in CA for my big spread. All I will say is that Merritt’s gates inside a 4 deck are the most retarded set up I’ve ever seen. You need about 3 hands to open them when you don’t have the decks in (cattle load) and have the two pieces pinned together. Or you can take your chances and not pin them together and hope nothing tries going under or over whatever half you try and close first.Last Call Thanks this. -
