    Remember sorting through a pile of old ones to find one that hadn't expired yet?

    I know it’s a simple thing but getting a few “happy birthday” comments from FCC via the QC makes me smile.

    {yes, and I’m accepting presents too}

    Happy birthday Midwest!!... and yeah, you're right it is a nice thing that they do that, kind of adds to that small company feel

    And hearing on the CB "anybody got an extra shower ticket I could use"

    I quit celebrating birthdays, I celebrate the anniversary of my 29th birthday instead.

    Now admittedly I’m not as “old school” as some here, I started drivin in 2006 at the ripe age of 20, but I came in right at the end of this. I remember having to call places and having to dial the extension for their automated directions and following what it said on the map to see if it made sense. Or the ever great girl at the front desk trying to steer you in there. “Just come off the interstate.. I don’t know what exit it is. Then you’ll turn left at the I think it’s a McDonald’s. I think it’s left, maybe it’s right? And then you can’t miss us”. :rolleyes: Spoiler alert: I almost always missed them.

    Back in the 80s I picked loads of barrels of maple syrup in eastern Canada. Went to lots of little towns and directions always included the "big stone church"

    My first job driving was for a local chicken plant. Many of their directions referred to tree farms...that were harvested years ago and not replanted. So it's "go down old millhopper road past Delbert Shasta's old tree farm, it ain't there anymore, but after you pass it, turn left on the 3rd dirt road, it ain't got no sign, but you can't miss it. Then go past Charlie Becker's cow pasture, that's his old tree farm, but he ain't replanted it in a while, then turn right and Mike Johnson's farm will be on the left"...and I was going in at night.
