This guy actually did a pretty good job describing some of the bs that many deal with.

    Thoughts?

That is hands down the best video I’ve watched all year.

Should be a mandatory watch for all citizens.

Yep watched that earlier. Hit on some good points but didn't go to in depth with stuff I thought he might.

For what he packed in with a short time frame, and humor - pretty good.

    Love the final spoof trailer.

Yes he sure did. Was not knocking it by any means. Was the best I have seen on TV by far.

The cable news, as far as I’ve seen - have poor research and follow the ATA mantra of the ‘driver shortage’.

This guy actually researched the story - couldn’t pick many holes in it.

Its pretty accurate as far as it went, cant fault him, he had a 20 minute window.

Id say the piece im not 100% sold on is the retention #s, yes turnover is very high in trucking, but the initial turnover is sky-high. Some of it is certainly low and unpaid work resulting in bs and drivers quitting, but even the absolute best companies with fair compensation packages have close to 100% turnover for rookies. Trucking just isnt for everyone, and its disingenuous to think that just cause you can get a cdl, that you can hack it as a driver. Some people are in the wrong field (say maybe need a home daily rather than otr) but some people have the driving skills but just arent cut out for trucking.

And the learning curve is high, with high costs for small mistakes in a way that you dont get in many other jobs, a secretary that mis-files a record when new isnt the same as a driver that cant manage their time and hits things. Both cost the company money and both may qualitatively be bad at their jobs, but in trucking, thats a fireable offense, while the secretary could be there for YEARS before anyone even knows theyre garbage at their job.
