You can't even drive the thing yet and counting the money already. You've got to start somewhere, it is a thing of EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE, start slow, figure out if you can, then grow while you can. Kids are not born fully functional, someone will have to babysit you till you can do something on your own.

    baha and ayooT Thank this.

There is nothing personal, it is just as life is, something we are dealing with everywhere we go and with everything we try to do, so just go for it and you'll see what's better for you while going.. sir,)

Again appreciate your time .. I always have a tend to over think and always want the perfect fit for where I’m headed in life without actually making that first step .. it’s more then a career it’s a learning curve in life that I would adjust to at some point.. again thank you for your comments ..

Not always the driver man. I had an 11 mile run at one time that burned 3hrs off my clock. By the time i’d get the wagon loaded, slide across town, empty out, & slide back across town to the barn it was a 3 hour trip every time.

XPO doesn't have specific jobs like most LTL carriers. There are no linehaul drivers there - they expect EVERY EMPLOYEE to do EVERY JOB. You will work the docks, you will run P&D during daylight hours then do an overnight linehaul run the next day! Their trucks also have the OnlyFans option (driver facing cameras). AAA Cooper, ABF, Estes, FedEx, Holland, Midwest Motor Express, New Penn, Old Dominion, Peninsula, R+L, Reddaway, SAIA, UPS and YRC are ALL better choices. If that's your only option to get your CDL, take it AFTER the others have all turned you down.

For what it’s worth, xpo let’s the drivers bid between linehaul board, flexboard(on call) and city board (bidding on set start times). The drivers have the opportunity to bid every year on these positions and as you gain more seniority you will work up to more choice runs for linehaul or earlier start times for the city board.

You could bid line board one year and city board the next if you wanted to change things up and you would retain your seniority on whichever board you landed on that year.

Have the company give your contact info to a driver working linehaul at the terminal you will be based. Have a current working linehaul at "your terminal" contact you then ask him questions like:
How long have you been at XPO?
How much experience do you have?
How many miles did you get last week?
How much do your benefits cost each week?
    What schedule do you work?
What schedule did you start with?
What is the worst trip or schedule available?
Do you know your schedule every day or week, how do you find out your schedule?
Can you give my contact info to another linehaul driver and have him call/text me?
Any other questions you want to know, Linehaul is usually a nighttime job going terminal to terminal.

You want to ask specific questions with specific answers "do you drive the same truck every day" instead of "are the trucks OK?"
After the specific questions you want to know, then ask the more general questions. Don't waste your time asking the recruiter anything. The recruiter MIGHT know the average pay per year or week, or he might just make up numbers. Nothing the recruiter tells you is a promise, a guarantee, or obligates the company to anything. The recruiter's job is to tell every prospect "this job is perfect for you but if you don't start in the next 5 minutes we will never hire you." Recruiters are just car salesmen that sell the trucking company to whoever puts in an application or calls the 800 number.

Every city has it's traffic problems and amount of traffic. The people on YouTube like to emphasize the empty miles between cities when there is no traffic and the scenery is pretty. It's not lying but the roads are full many places in the country and people want their freight moved.
