    Wondering if anyone could help?
I live in the uk and am wanting to move to America as a Hgv class 1 driver been driving in England for 11 years, mostly long distance , but not to sure if my license from the uk would be valid in America. Any help would be appreciated.

The US only has cdl reciprocity with Canada and Mexico. You can exchange your UK cdl for a Canadian cdl in Quebec. You would be able to drive in the US with your Canadian cdl.

Not having a cdl would be the least of your problems. You can get a cdl in the US in 4 weeks for ~$3,000 USD or free if you agree to work for a major US carrier for a year. Getting US citizenship so you can legally live and work in the US can take years and cost tens of thousands in fees. Truck driving isn’t considered a special skill for immigration purposes so your application would go in the general pile with everyone else.

Option #1. Canada does have special immigration programs for truck drivers. You can read about the requirements here. Live and work in Canada, but drive in the US on your Canadian cdl.

Option #2. Come in anyway. Student visa, tourist visa, doesn’t matter - no one will deport you. We have a vast border to the south no one is watching also. Move in or near Chicago. You’ll have to work 1099 and drive a white Volvo for a while. Get a US citizen pregnant and you’ll have an anchor baby qualifying you for a green card. You can find a willing, “birthing person” at most bowling alleys or Dairy Queens. With your green card in hand you can now go to cdl school and earn a US cdl.

If you're not married; marry an American woman and then you can be here in a few months.

Your license it's not valid anywhere in NA.
    As a CDL, I mean.
You can drive a car in Canada or USA.
    Whatever you decide to do.
    DON'T MARRY an American woman.
    Or a Canadian woman.
    These are not viable options.

Marrying an American is a quick way to the USA. Can be here in less than a year and have a work permit.
I worked with a Canadian that did that and it worked out very well for him and his wife. They never lived together. He put her on his health insurance through the trucking company which is what she wanted. When I worked with him they had been married about 12 years and he was happy and she was happy, even though he had only seen her a couple of times.
    Edit:
She contacted him 2 or 3 times over the years because she changed address. He then changed the address in his file, so she wouldn't have any problem with her health insurance.
Worked out well for him and the lady.

Well, it's better than spending $10's of thousands of dollars and taking 10 years to get it done.
This is not uncommon at all and happens probably 100's of times a year.

I have always liked you and most of the time agreed with you, but this subject we are not going to see eye to eye on and before it becomes loud and rude, I will bow out. I will say, I strongly disagree with your advice.
