I'm led to believe by my DBL's that you only get a hotel stay if your truck is in the shop for a extended period of time.
Does anyone know of any other circumstances that allow for hotel a stay? And if so.... WHERE do you even FIND info on this, other than office personel?

It depends on the precise circumstances, but rough rule of thumb is if your truck is unavailable to take your dot break in, they'll set up a hotel.

Generally, all I have to do is ask.

    Yep, ask your DBL.
When mine went to shop to change a fuel line that collapsed they put me in a room at Indy while it was in their shop.
Had to ride the bus with the trainees when they went to motel.

Yeah, like I said in my initial post, my DBL mainly said its only if you're unable to stay in your truck overnight, then you get a hotel stay until its fixed. But I always get the vibe that there are other circumstances that allow for a hotel stay, but my DBL is not able to be forth-right about it.
Plus, I remember other drivers telling me that you're supposed to get a hotel stay if a customer has you waiting for an extended period of days to unload a product. So I don't know what to believe...
