Posted this in the flatbed section because I figured y’all were most likely to deal with this issue. And frankly, this is new to me.
I have an APU now, but I can’t mount my catwalk because of the APU mounts coming over the top of the frame.
Just looking for mount bracket alternatives, or ideas, so I can get the use of my frame back for mounting my catwalk.
I’m sure there’s an easy solution, but I’m not finding it.
thanks
Need flush APU mounts (I need my catwalk)

There’s already holes there in the frame that look unused, why not build a mount that uses them?
Blue jeans, OLDSKOOLERnWV, MOBee and 2 others Thank this. -
Notch the catwalk around the mounts. If the catwalk is the raised type, it will probably be flush with the mounts.
Aamcotrans, MOBee, gentleroger and 4 others Thank this. -
Blue jeans Thanks this. -
Notching was my only thought too.
4mer trucker, cke, CAXPT and 1 other person Thank this. -
On the other side I have a step toolbox that we made some brackets for. I’ll probably go the same route with the APU using some heavy duty square tubing and existing frame holes. Was just kinda hoping there was some industry standard mount.
Blue jeans and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
I had mine on the previous 3 trucks installed by a shop
All of them notched the deckCAXPT Thanks this. -
I’d rather not lol, but atleast I know now that that is a common work around.
I’ll try to remember to post pics here whatever I decide to do.baha Thanks this. -
gentleroger, D.Tibbitt and F4T6UY Thank this.
