One thing that drivers have to get under control: they can't get too emotionally invested in trucking. It will eat you alive quick, fast, and in a hurry. Trucking has a lot of bull ####, but there is also a lot of good to it as well. Wait times are certainly unavoidable occasions. It takes time to find your footing in this industry. It don't happen in 1 year either. However, you can't allow yourself to get burned out. You have to relax and get away from trucking for a while. Sometimes you go home, sometimes you eat a steak dinner, sometimes you rent a motel room and drink beer til you pass out and get a soul cleansing sleep. Any of those work for me, but you gotta keep yourself from getting too emotionally invested in work. You'll have to find what works for ya. My hope is that you hang in there, and find a company that would satisfy your needs. Good luck to ya driver!

I spent the last 14 months working 7 days a week and it will just wear you out and it keeps you from being able to focus on anything except your next appointment time. I would get more suitable driving job that gives you at least time off every week or two. Reading ads, and believing what they say, is not a great plan. If you are interested in a job because of the ad, make the company put you in contact with drivers doing that job at that company. Then ask those drivers about pay, schedule, benefits, etc. The "recruiter" on the phone could be working for multiple trucking companies with only the ad in front of him/her. Any question you ask will be answered with "I'll have to ask the company and get back to you." They never give you an answer but will hint the answer is whatever you want it to be.Rideandrepair and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

Couple of my neighbours do that, a pipe fitter and a boilermaker/welder. They make big money, but they’re not home any more than my drivers are, and my drivers are home more often. Those guys spend most of their time in motels or camps in bum #### nowhere for 3-6 months at a time.tscottme, Rideandrepair, Another Canadian driver and 1 other person Thank this.

In case anyone hasn't heard there is a labor SHORTAGE right now.
Convenience stores pay $25/hrs. Warehouse work pays $30 an hour. You have to be willing to work obviously.
That's why driver salaries are going to skyrocket very soon. I'm talking $150k yr range. Woe to those companies who don't see it.bentstrider83 and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
