Replacing Sony Head unit without replacing wiring

    Any basic Sony deck should have the same wiring harness.

    That's not a bad idea right there. Could even get fancy and use a series of weather pack connectors to make it look really tidy.

    I did take the advice of talking to the installer at Best Buy, who showed me a couple of plugs - turns out Sony made the 16 pin smaller in the last 10 years.

    So . . . chop chop chop - the color scheme remained the same. I used the 'Kuject' sleeves with solder inside and heat shrink rings on the end to attach the new plug.

    We'll see how long this unit lasts - the last one was 'Refurbished' and made it 11 years.

    I tried listening to my You Tube videos, but felt a compulsion to insert sharp pencils in my ears after a few minutes, so I’m unsure if learning to sing would be a good idea.
