When I worked for Andrews Transport we had drivers delivering there regularly, so I figured Logistics had inherited that work.

They sure did! I forgot Transport pioneered the PA market for Andrews. Andrews is in the process of moving from Aliquippa to McKees Rocks now. Been building a terminal down there for quite sometime. I think Covid put a kink in the plans as it’s been in the works for a few years now.

My hats off to any and all drivers from that region. There ain’t a straight or level road in that whole state not to mention the parking situation isn’t fun to deal with nor the winter weather. I always enjoy getting up there a few times a year and talking to the locals. Those are real drivers! Pretty easy running down here in the south.

They actually just purchased Andrews Aliquippa yard. Talked to one of our drivers today. I believe they have a gigantic customer right there by the Gypsum plant.

I'm from the Harrisburg area, but yeah good luck finding a straight level road around here haha. And we have potholes that would make the Pope swear. Driving around here sucks! We have an older population where I typically run, and they're stuck in the 50's or something, when the speed limit was a breakneck speed of molasses in January or something. Especially once you're off the interstate. One particular stretch of road that I travel often is a pretty nice road, and you can roll along quite nicely until about 7AM. After that, forget it. Grandma and Grandpa are out for breakfast, the garbage trucks and heating oil trucks and propane trucks come out of the woodwork. Oh and to add to the fun we have a lot of farmers and Amish to watch for. It's a great time!

We also get to look at trees with no leaves, brown grass for 5-6 months of the year -thats if it's not snowing. But, come summer weather, it really is nice up here, if you take the time to appreciate it, in between dodging potholes and construction zones!

I appreciate all the replies, I have hometime this week so I have a lot of calls to make/ apps to fill out.

Really hoping for JLP or one of the smaller companies mentioned been just a number in construction my whole life be nice to change that, but the goal is to drive tanker so whoever bites first with my lack of experience.

And on PA I love cruising the mountains in my vehicle, I hate when I get sent through here with 45k in the trailer lol. Maybe the next governor will get us some parking in this state to (lol)

This just in on the Qualcomm while writing this, Heartland bought Smith Transport

Anyway I'll let you all know how it goes, maybe keep the ideas rolling for other newbies

Came over the Qualcomm as I typed my post.
Heartland seems to have a lot of money when fixing terminals or buying out companies, I just want the pullout tables back in the truck lol

Yeah Rutt hope everything works out with JLP for ya~its a nice small company between 15-25 trucks we stay busy they kinda leave you alone. They just upgraded the fleet with all Peterbilt 579’s its a mixture of manuals and automatics, nice trucks.
