Hi!
Mr Positive here.
Not feeling confident about this one.86scotty, Vampire, pete781693 and 10 others Thank this. -
Lots of people tried that around here when the oilfield 1st started booming. It plain doesn't work out.
Get the truck in your name and hire a few drivers if you wanna try it. -
Not a good idea. Just do it by yourself or buy a couple more trucks to lease on with them.

This is how things are operated at fuel delivery companies in my area. 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts.
Keepforgettingmypassword Thanks this. -
Yes, but it's not by 4 people with equal? shares in the truck.....JoeyJunk and Keepforgettingmypassword Thank this.

Most guys are salary now anyways and with an s- corp you wanna pay yourself the lowest salary possibly anyways due to the SET. The win is for the scheduled K-1 distributions. My day guy of course never runs as many loads at night, that’s already baked into the cake. Most the shops are only open during the day, so it’s always on day shift to swap trailers, get trucks p.m.ed, tire shop time etc. Plus day drivers have to deal with all the traffic in & around tank town. However, with the day getting the truck ready for night sometimes, this allows night guy (me) to run loads! Of course, night guy brings in the cash but he couldn’t do it unless he spent all of his spare time dicking with the tractor! A crappy day salary out of the kitty for day guy to go play musical trucks or trailers? Pfft where do I sign up! Ain’t nobody got time for that! Plus, most of us weekend salary guys make in or around $100,000 a year, so I know there’s money there. But I have a hard time believing it’s worth it to be a 1 man band stand and be able to do it in perpetuity w/o getting extremely burned out. Especially with prices for everything going through the roof, you’re either going to have to team up with someone to make it & split cost or throw in the towel & call BS on it all!

They have that option here too but as far as I know that entails usually working every weekend in some fashion or another.

@Magicdeff ...Okay, you asked and we answered. It sounds like, despite all advice to the contrary, that your mind is made up and you're going to go ahead with your plan.
Why exactly did you ask for advice if you've made your decision already?
Or am I missing something here?exhausted379, ZVar, Socal Xpress and 2 others Thank this. -
Exactly.
I've managed adults before, it's like being a father, only you can't beat them, yell at them, or fire them now because trying to find their replacement is near impossible.
You get into trucking to avoid people, not jump into a four-way relationship with them.Vampire Thanks this.
