PTL DRIVERS sound off with what’s going on with you. I know you are out there, I see you rolling on the highway. Got something on your mind that may assist another driver share that information. I have a great Fleet Manager, Barry. We communicate regularly and it’s been an awesome experience so far. So with that said if you are having problems constant communication is one of the keys to success. At the West Memphis terminal for PM. Found a seal leak between AC and engine said I may have to take it to the dealership, that doesn’t sound good. More down time. If the wheels aren’t rolling not making that money. Until next time y’all keep the rubber side up.

On home time rn. But I agree nights if you can swing it is how to best utilize your clock. More miles less stress. Only downside is if you can’t find an mt at receiver you won’t get one til ops rolls in at 0700 central time. Getting a pair of those clip on yellow tinted polarized sunglasses was the game changer for me. Went from not caring for night driving at all to loving it.

    Manchu and bryan21384 Thank this.

Hey thanks for the update and hope you have a great 4th. Where did you purchase your clip on. If it changes night to day I’ll try them. Heading home on the 6th. Stay safe my friend.

They’ve gotten harder to find at truck stops (at least the yellow tinted ones). I find anything darker than those and they wind up being too dark. But you can find them at the eye glass stores in Walmart for about half what the truckstops charge. They work great but they are very cheaply made and Ive had to replace them many times unfortunately. Still well worth it imo. Same to you and be safe.

Looking at PTL. Retired Navy, and starting CDL school soon. Recruiting seemed on the up and up answered all the questions I had. Any advise for a newbie?

Ask about the military appreciation pay. Ask to go to west Memphis for orientation they have a better hotel. Also ask to do your urinalysis prior to you attending. Their process of getting you to a solo position is long but from my understanding not to bad. Any assistance I can give just hit me up here. Maybe some more drivers will also provide some insight. Been here since May and it’s going well. Hope this helped.
