Lot Lizards

Pilot in Gary has been like that as long as I can remember. Same for Flying J and Petro in West Memphis, the J in Indy, and the former pilot near downtown OKC. All the OKC stops, Wheeling WV, and the Dallas Flying J used to be BAD. They have cleaned up. Dallas still kinda sucks, but it's NOTHING like it was.

 

Another one that was notorious, if I remember correctly, was the Chevron on the hill in Albuquerque, NM. I believe it’s been torn down, but back in the early 00’s it was all junkies and ladies of the night.

 

The T/A down there is still kinda shady. I avoid most of the BS by driving at night. There are still places I don't stop even in the daytime, but they are easy enough to avoid.

 

The think the worst I had ever dealt with was the Walt Whitman Truck Stop in Philly. Back in the days with MS Carriers...sleep was never an option with the incessant banging all night. I was always glad to bounce from there.

 

Lot lizards where consider “ A Commercial Beaver” back when I did regional (1980’s). Either walking truck or on the CB radio for those looking for that commercial company.

 

Incessant.....what?

 

I am no sure if you need a definition or to explain further on the banging...lol Incessant is something regarded as unpleasant continuing without pause or interruption.
Ex. "the incessant beat of the music"
In this case the lot lizards banging on the door but I assure you no banging by me
Though thinking back, maybe I should have...would have caused a divorce sooner than later had I came home with something I couldn't get rid of. Jk

 

The question wasn't in regard to the definition of the word "incessant", but rather as to the nature of the activity described as such ..
