Some of the companies in Post #5 are also union.
    This one for example:

i worked for an LTL company that was union..it was "just ok", cuz the union was a weak one, we referred to it as "mickey mouse" union.

however, if the job you have now is a teamsters, then you cannot beat the pension at retirement, and the health benefits, and other paid things that not too many mega carriers can offer.

now, if it is NOT a teamsters union, post the union info here, and i'll get back to you, but generally you will do just fine at a union job, where you usually DO NOT get fired without a union "hearing" first.

I did the check out the other way. Worked for JB on a regional dedicated account. Started a bit before Covid hit.

The group I ran for was pretty solid but that may depends on what region and division you get into. You need specifics for the work group you are looking at.

We parted ways over an administrative issue. I did my DOT physical at a small med office out in the county. Corporate chose to not accept anything other than one from one of their approved clinics in one the big urban areas. I felt that those clinics were not safe at that time so I chose to move on.

Six months later they did nearly recruit me back to the job, but I chose a different local place instead. If it becomes appropriate to drive again I would still consider going back.

I pass JB Hunt trucks all the time. They aren't the worst. I think Shneider deserves a lot more hate than they get. They're at least as bad as Swift. Back on topic. I don't know how JB Hunt treats their drivers, or how well the pay them, but if I had the chance to work a union job, I wouldn't even waste my time talking to someone else. You are going to get better pay, better benefits, and possible have less micromanaging BS to deal with.

Congrats! Keep the shiny side up.

Okay, the company is called CoreMark. They are united to the teamsters but you don't have to become a teamster.. I'm unsure how that works

Search my history--I am BY FAR not a Union guy, to put it mildly. But if it's a choice between a Union gig and JBH? Pay those dues and smile. I drove for JBH, and if I posted my opinion, I'd use so much profanity I'd likely be banned from here for life.

I think in one of my posts I referred to it being a fuel hauling job because he said delivering to gas stations. An assumption on my part.

Speaking as a union guy, unless you're working at YRC, you'd be good to stay at the union job you currently have. Top pay rate, pension, insurance, PTO...only you know what you have, but it's likely going to be better than what JB Hunt is actually offering (rather than what the RECRUITER is offering).

CoreMark delivers to all sorts of convenience stores.
Anything sold inside the store they supply. Candy, Oil, Rubbers. Sardines ect..
    But NO fuel.
Some locations are UNION some are not.
A Union is only as strong as its members.
